1、连词的含义：

连接词与词、短语与短语、或引导从句的词叫连接词。

2、连词的分类：

连词分为并列连接词和从属连接词两种。

（1）并列连接词连接并列的词、短语、从句或句子。常见的并列连接词有：

and（和），but（但是），or（或者，否则），nor（也不），so（所以），however（然而，无论如何），for（因为），still（可是），aswellas（也），both..and...（…和…），notonly...butalso...（不但…而且…），either…or…（或…或…），neither…nor…（既不…也不…）等。

（2）从属连接词用于引导从句，常见的从属连接词有：

when（当…时候），while（正当…时候）

after（在…之后），before（在…之前）

since（自从），until（直到）

although/though（虽然），if（假如）

as（如…一样；由于），as…as…（和…一样）

asfaras（就…而言），aslongas（只要）

assoonas（一…就…），evenif（即使）

because（因为），unless（除非），than（比…）

whether（是否…），inorderthat…（为了）

so…that…（如此…以致），sothat…（以便）

nowthat…（现在既然），bythetime…（到…时候）

everytime…（每当），asif…（仿佛）

nomatterwhen（或whenever）（无论何时）

连词是用来连接词，短语，从句或句子的词，连词的不作句子成分。

表示并列关系的连词, 主要有 and,both...and, not only but also...和neither....nor..等

and表示”和，并且“的意思，用来连接对等关系的词，短语和短语，句子和句子。

祈使句后用and连接，有条件的作用，此时and=if you ....,youll

both....and...既..也...

neither...nor...既不...也不...连接两个并列主语时，谓语动词靠近哪个主语就与哪个主语保持人称和数的一致

Neither I nor he has seen the play basketball

not only ...but also..不但，而且 。连接两个主语时，句子谓语动词也遵循就近原则。

表示转折关系的连词，but ,however,yet ,still,while,

表示选择关系的并列连词；or表示"或”的意思，，，用语两者之间选择一个

祈使句边接or，表示“否则”

either....or...或者....或者.....

whether....or...不管...还是...

表示因果关系的并列是连词for,so

引导时间状语从句的从属连词，before,after,when,while,as,until,since,.....

when,while,as,表”当...时.. “ when从句的 谓语动词既可以是瞬间 动词也可以是延续性动词，可用于主句和从句动作同时发生或从句动作先于主句动作发生的情况。while从句的谓语动词只能是延续性动词，侧重主句和从句动作同时发生。as引导一个持续动作，多用于主语和从句动作同时发生，强调”一边...一边...“

untill用法，当主句谓语动词是延续性动词时，主句和从句都用肯定式，译为”直到....为止”，当主句谓语动作时瞬间动词时，主句用否定式，从句用肯定式，not...until,译为“直到...才”

She waited until his children came back.

She didnt go to bed until his children came back

引导条件状语从语的从属连词，if如果unless除非..

引导原因状语从句从属连词，because(不能与so连用）, as,since

because语气最强，回答why提问的时只能用because,其引导的从句可放在句首句末；as语气不如because强，引导的从句常置于句道。

引导让步状语从句的从属连词；although/though（不能与but连用但是可与yet,still连用，even though/even if....

引导目的状语从句的从属连词，so that, in order that/to...

引导结果状语从句从的属连词，so that，so /such...that...

引导比较状语从句的从属连词，as....as..., not as/so...as ,than....

引导名词性从句的从属连词，that, if/whether

(一)正误辨析

1、［误］Bothmyparentsarenothere.Theywenttotheconcertjustnow.

［正］Neitherofmyparentsishere.Theywenttotheconcertjustnow.

［析］在英语中both一般用于肯定句中，如用于否定句中，其意义也不同于汉语，如：Bothofusarenotright.在英语中应被理解为"我们俩不都对。"而Neitherofusisright。才能被理解为"我们俩无一正确"。

2、［误］Heorhisparentshassometicketsforthefilm.

［正］Heorhisparentshavesometicketsforthefilm.

［析］由or连接两主语时，谓语动词应与相临近的那一个主语保持一致。

3、［误］Youshouldstudyhard,andyouwontpasstheexam.

［正］Youshouldstudyhard,oryouwontpasstheexam.

［析］or作为连词，这里的意思为"否则"。又如：Hurryup,oryoullbelateforschool.

4、［误］Thoughheispoor,butheisreadytohelpothers.

［正］Thoughheispoor,heisreadytohelpothers.

［正］Heispoor,butheisreadytohelpothers.

［析］"虽然……但是"是中文中的常用结构，但在英文中用了"虽然"则不要用"但是"，用了"但是"则不能再用"虽然"，二者只可用其一。
