② 基数词+单位词+in+名词（size，length，width，height，depth等）
● The Sahara is more than9,000,000 square kilometers in size.

③ 基数词-单位词单数形式-形容词（中间为连字符，用作定语）

【句式结构】
① 倍数+as+形容词或副词原级+as
● Asia is aboutfour times as large asEurope.
亚洲的面积约是欧洲的四倍。
② 倍数+形容词或副词比较级+than
● This hall isfive times bigger thanour classroom.
这个大厅比我们的教室大五倍。
③ 倍数+the+名词（size，length，width，height等）+of
● This street isfour times the length ofthat one.
这条街是那条街的四倍长。
形容词和副词一般有原级、比较级（表示“较……更……”，一般用于两者之间的比较）和最高级（表示“最……”，一般用于三者或三者以上的比较）。常见的表示比较的结构有以下几种。
1.表示比较的结构的近义转换
①more... than...，less... than... 与not as/so... as...的相互转换。
● This story ismore interestingthan that one.
这个故事比那个（故事）有趣。
=That story isless interestingthan this one.
那个故事没有这个（故事）有趣。
=That story isnot as/so interesting asthis one.
那个故事不和这个（故事）一样有趣。
② 比较级和最高级的相互转换：“比较级+than+any other+可数名词单数” 或 “比较级+than+the other+可数名词复数”可表示最高级。
● The Yangtze River islonger than any otherriverin China.
长江比中国其他任何一条河都长。
=The Yangtze River islonger than the other riversin China.
长江比中国的其他河都长。
=The Yangtze River isthe longest riverin China.
长江是中国最长的河。
2.比较级的两种特殊用法
① “比较级+and+比较级”（适用于不需要在前面加more 变比较级的词）或 “more and more+原级”（适用于需在前面加more变比较级的词）结构表示事物特征的递进，意为“越来越……”。
● He worksharder and harder.
他工作越来越努力。
● Our hometown is becomingmore and more beautiful.
我们的家乡正变得越来越美丽。
② the+比较级,the+比较级“结构意为“越……，越……”。
●The healthieryou are,the happieryou will be.
你越健康，你就越开心。
3.形容词最高级的两种特殊用法
① “one of +the +形容词最高级+可数名词复数”，意为“最….的……之一”。
● China isone of the oldest countriesin the world.
中国是世界上最古老的国家之一。
② “the+序数词+形容词最高级+可数名词单数”意为“第几最……的……。”
● The Yellow River isthe second longest riverin China.
黄河是中国的第二长河。
