As I Grew Older - The Poetry of Langston Hughes - 读趣百科

As I Grew Older

My dream.

And then the wall rose,

I lie down in the shadow.

Above me.

Of sun!

Between me and my dream.

The wall.

Shadow.

No longer the light of my dream before me,

Find my dream!

To smash this night,

My hands!

Bright like a sun--

My dark hands!

In front of me,

Into a thousand whirling dreams

Rose until it touched the sky--
