雪地裡一個小黑點
哭著掃掃叫人憐
你的爹娘在哪兒 說呀
他們都去禮拜堂祈禱啦
我在荒野裡曾經很快樂
還在冬天的雪裡歡笑
他們就讓我穿上黑衣
叫我唱起悲傷的小調
我還是快樂 又跳又唱
爹娘就以為沒把我害夠
就去讚美上帝 神父和國王
是他們在我們的苦難上建起天堂
A little black thing among the snow:
Crying weep, weep, in notes of woe!
Where are thy father & mother? say?
They are both gone up to the church to pray.
Because I was happy upon the heath,
And smild among the winters snow:
They clothed me in the clothes of death,
Abd taught me to sing the notes of woe.
And becuse I am happy & dance & sing,
They think they have done me no injury:
And are gone to praise God & his Priest & King
Who make up a heaven of our misery.
