regret to do sth. 与 regret doing sth. 的用法区别

① regret to do sth. 表示“很遗憾做某事”，to 后跟的动词主要是 say、 tell、inform 等，此时句子主语一般是第一人称，且 regret 通常用一般现在时。

● I regret to say that you have failed your exam.

我很遗憾地告诉你，你考试不及格。

② regret doing sth. 表示“后悔或遗憾做过某事”。

● I regret spending so much money.

我很后悔花了这么多钱。
